Weer in een kleine verbetering voor de Palestijnse zelfstandigheid. Het wordt tijd voor een overzicht van de ontwikkelingen van de laatste jaren op het gebied van de PA autonomie en het verwijderen van wegversperringen en checkpoints, want in media en opiniestukken lijkt vaak verwezen te worden naar een situatie die inmiddels achterhaald is.

Palestinians Security Forces Able to Operate Freely in Major Palestinian Cities
As of today, Palestinian security forces will be able to extend their hours of operation in the cities of Ramallah, Qalqilya, Bethlehem and Jericho, in order to better deal with criminal activity and maintain public order in the cities.
The decision follows a coordination meeting that took place yesterday in Bethlehem, between commander of the IDF Judea and Samaria Division, Brig. Gen. Noam Tibon, head of the Civil Administration, Brig. Gen.Yoav Mordechay and the heads of the Palestinian security forces.
The IDF wishes to clarify that the responsibility for maintaining security in the region has not been transferred from the IDF, and that the IDF will continue to operate within Judea and Samaria in order to thwart terrorist operations.
