Hamas: Palestijnse eenheidsregering zal Israel niet erkennen

"The Zionist entity is a foreign power that has nothing to do with the land of Palestine and this alien body should get out of our lands," he elaborated.

Hamas prominent leader MP Dr. Mahmnoud Al-Zahhar has asserted in a press interview published that any next PA national unity government would not recognize Zionist entity.

He told UAE-based Al-Khalij newspaper that recognizing Zionist entity would not be on the agenda of the new Palestinian government, and added that Hamas would not recognize the agreements signed between the PLO and Zionist entity.

"The Zionist entity is a foreign power that has nothing to do with the land of Palestine and this alien body should get out of our lands," he elaborated.

The Hamas leader hoped that the new unity government would be one of technocrats that would be formed with the agreement of all Palestinian factions, and added that the government's prime targets would be improving the Palestinian people's living conditions, holding elections and achieving the "noble goals" of the Palestinian people.

Zahhar said that Egypt would not provide any guarantees for success of the Palestinian dialog, and added that the Palestinian factions should have the intention to ensure the success.

Former PA chief and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas had said that any unity government should accept the two-state solution, which was criticized by Hamas as an attempt to impose pre-conditions on the dialog.
