Hamas belooft door Israël geleverde brandstof door te laten

Niet alleen een staking, maar de actieve preventie door Hamas van de distributie van door Israël geleverde brandstof heeft geleid tot de 'humanitaire crisis' in de Gazastrook. Bovendien heeft Hamas brandstof gestolen die aan ziekenhuizen zou worden geleverd. Het doden van Israëli's gaat voor Hamas immers boven het genezen van Palestijnen.

 

Zowel de hieronder genoemde staking als bovengenoemde Hamas praktijken waren voor de media niet vermeldenswaard.

Hamas pledges to work to distribute fuel supplied by Israel

A Hamas official said Sunday that his government is moving to persuade Gaza gas station owners to distribute fuel supplied by Israel.

The official, Taher Nunu, said Egypt has been urging the Islamic Hamas to intervene in the gas station owners' strike that has left Gaza without fuel for cars and other vehicles. Last week UN food aid was stopped because there was no fuel for UN vehicles.

Israel insists there are large quantities of fuel sitting at the border depot, and charges Hamas with creating an artificial crisis.

Speaking after a Cabinet meeting on Sunday, Nunu said Hamas accepted a request from Egypt and will try to end the month-long gas station strike.
